My creative journey started started with cloth.  The first cloth was my Dad's handkerchief.  I was smoothing it on the ironing board with my hand,  I remember the rolled edges and the "bump" they made.  I was intrigued.  The cloth was very thin and had some slight texture along each side made by lines from how it was woven.  They were barely visible, but I remember seeing and being curious about them.  The lines were all slightly shinier than the rest of the cloth which was almost see through.  I remember  pressing it flat with my hand and the feeling of  "soft and smooth".  That feel has stayed with me.  It is a strong connection to long ago.  I must have been 7 or  8.  Since then, I have experimented with creative  expression through quilting, knitting, crocheting, dyeing fabric and fiber, spinning yarn, screenprinting on fabric with dye and paint (surface design), acrylic, watercolor, and oil painting, drawing, encaustic, collage, gelli printing, ceramics, mosaic, stained glass, and wood working.
